Manifested and curated by Úrsula Romero, there really was nothing quite like INKQ. Printed on lightweight paper, this quarterly publication which ran between 2018 and 2021 pushed boundaries whilst building visual and intellectual bridges. Beautifully designed, the paper physically delivered inspiration and interesting content directly to our hands and eyes.
INKQ was a piece of art. It was a carefully considered and unconventional collage of ideas, with an emphasis on an amalgam of art and the natural sciences. Artists, academics and scientists from a wide range of disciplines all contributed to the paper. Some of whom made works that went beyond the paper such as film and musical pieces.
The publication was designed to be a piece of art in itself; contemporary and modern, something beautiful that can be collected and even framed. Designer Andrew Burton and Úrsula Romero worked together to create a newspaper that would be unexpectedly exquiste. It existed to be read, admired, displayed and provoke thought. Style married to high ideals.
Each limited edition consisted of two double-sided printed A1 sheets hand folded into a unique ly desinged envelope that changed with each edition. Print runs were limited to 300 copies only.
Editions are extremely limited and several issues have already sold out. However, there are a few remaining issues left and it is now possible to purchase single copies by clicking the link below that will take you to Inky Leaves Publishing. There you can also see PDF images of each edition.
